Indonesia's digital startup sector is under pressure. Total investment in 2024 reached around USD 760 million.
This figure is far lower than the peak during 2021–2022, when investments totaled USD 11.8 billion.
“The decrease is significant. Through HUB.ID Summit 2025, we want to reactivate the startup ecosystem and restore investor confidence in Indonesia’s digital potential,” said Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, Acting Director of Digital Ecosystem Development, during a press conference on September 24, 2025.
HUB.ID Summit 2025 to Showcase 20 Curated Startups
HUB.ID Summit 2025 will take place in Jakarta from October 22 to 23. The Ministry of Communication and Digital is partnering with Tech In Asia to organize the event.
Twenty curated startups will be introduced to investors, corporations, and industry experts.
“We are curating 20 startups. Besides meeting venture capitalists, they will also connect with strategic corporate partners and experts to help improve the quality of founders and startup teams,” said Sonny.
Despite the declining investment trend, interest among startup founders remains high.
“The interest from startups is actually very high. However, we have limited seats; this year, only 20 startups will be featured,” he added.
Jakarta Chosen for Strategic and Efficiency Reasons
Unlike previous editions held in Bali, this year’s summit will be hosted in Jakarta.
This decision aligns with government efficiency efforts and aims to bring startups closer to Indonesia’s business, investment, and regulatory centers.
HUB.ID Program Has Secured USD 210 Million Since 2022
Since its launch in 2022, HUB.ID has supported around 260 startups.
Out of these, 63 startups successfully secured investment after participating in the program, with a total value of approximately USD 210 million.
“This means the program has a real impact. There are 63 startups that have received investments after participating in HUB.ID with a total value of around USD 210 million,” Sonny explained.
Tiered Programs Support the National Startup Ecosystem
HUB.ID is part of a broader government strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s digital economy.
Other initiatives include 1000 Startup Digital for early-stage startups and Startup Studio for those reaching product-market fit.
These programs aim to develop startups at every stage and prepare them for investment and growth through HUB.ID.
