NeutraDC and PLN Partner on 200 MW Hyperscale Data Center Expansion in Cikarang

PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC), the operating company of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) and part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, is working with PT PLN (Persero) to prepare energy supplies for the phased development of a hyperscale data center in Cikarang, West Java, with planned capacity of up to 200 MW. The expansion is intended to support the growing need for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital services.

NeutraDC said reliable, scalable and resilient energy infrastructure is important to support the planned increase in data center capacity.

NeutraDC and PLN Sign MoU for Cikarang Data Center

The cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Bandung on Tuesday, August 11.

The MoU was signed by NeutraDC Group President Director Rakhmad Tunggal Afifuddin, PLN UID West Java General Manager Muhammad Joharifin and PLN Electricity Services President Director Susiana Mutia. PLN Retail and Commerce Director M. Fahrur Rozy witnessed the signing.

Several other companies involved in electricity procurement in Cikarang also signed agreements.

Expansion to Increase Data Center Capacity to 200 MW

The Cikarang expansion will increase NeutraDC’s data center capacity to up to 200 MW.

Rakhmad said the development is part of NeutraDC’s long-term strategy to strengthen Indonesia’s digital infrastructure as the use of AI, cloud computing and data-based services continues to grow.

“For us at NeutraDC, this expansion is not simply about adding data center capacity. We are preparing the infrastructure Indonesia needs to grow in the AI era. Therefore, energy readiness is a very important part of our expansion strategy,” Rakhmad continued.

NeutraDC said the demand for digital infrastructure requires data centers with large capacity, reliable services and the ability to scale according to customer growth.

NeutraDC Highlights Cross-Sector Collaboration

Rakhmad said large-scale digital infrastructure requires cooperation across sectors because data centers need energy, connectivity, technology and a strong industrial ecosystem.

“Digital transformation cannot stand alone. When we expand data center capacity, we also need to ensure that the entire supporting ecosystem is ready. Collaboration with PLN is part of our effort to ensure this expansion can proceed in a measured and sustainable manner,” he explained.

Through its cooperation with PLN, NeutraDC will receive energy readiness support for its data center infrastructure expansion, particularly in Cikarang, with additional capacity planned to reach up to 200 MW.

Cikarang Expansion Supports AI and Digital Services

NeutraDC said the expansion is expected to create more room for companies, cloud providers, technology players and the AI ecosystem to develop services and increase their computing capacity in Indonesia.

The company said the additional data center capacity will also strengthen Indonesia’s opportunity to become an important part of digital economic growth and the AI ecosystem in the region.

“We believe that the future of Indonesia's digital economy is built through collaboration. NeutraDC brings digital capacity and infrastructure, PLN ensures energy readiness, and synergy within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem strengthens our ability to create greater value,” Rakhmad said.

NeutraDC is also developing three main services to support customer needs for AI: Neutra Colocation, Neutra Compute and Neutra Connect.

The services cover data center facilities, computing for AI needs and digital connectivity, including colocation, GPU and AI compute, data center interconnection, cross-connect and internet services.

Through these services, NeutraDC serves as a provider of digital infrastructure and an ecosystem for enterprise and hyperscale needs.
