Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, emphasized that the collaboration with India in 5G and artificial intelligence aligns with the country’s national goal of accelerating digital transformation.
“Our non-aligned foreign policy gives us flexibility to build strategic partnerships globally,” Meutya said in a meeting with India’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Sandeep Chakravorty. She highlighted the importance of turning the partnership into actionable steps through a technical working group or a joint statement.
Inclusive AI Development: A Shared Priority
Meutya also reaffirmed Indonesia’s stance on making AI development inclusive and accessible to all nations, stressing that it should not be dominated by a select few countries.
“AI technology should be for everyone, not just a few chosen nations,” she added, connecting the country’s views on AI with its position in international forums like BRICS.
