Xanh SM, Vietnam’s electric ride-hailing service, has officially entered the Indonesian market with its flagship service, VinFast Limogreen. According to CNN Indonesia, Xanh SM aims to tackle Jakarta’s air pollution while providing a modern, eco-friendly transportation alternative at an affordable price.

The launch of VinFast Limogreen has received positive feedback in Jakarta, with office workers and young professionals praising the service. Testimonials collected by CNN Indonesia describe the service as “modern,” “smooth,” and “safe.” Alfin, a tech professional, highlighted its practicality during peak hours, saying, “It saved me a lot of time during rush hour.”

Xanh SM’s electric taxis distinguish themselves with their cleanliness, spacious interiors, and advanced features. Ammed Apriliyo noted, “The cars are clean, the drivers are friendly, and the payment integration with apps like OVO and ShopeePay makes it even more convenient.”

GoTo CEO Patrick Sugito Walujo commented on Xanh SM’s entry into the Indonesian market during the Indonesia PE-VC Summit 2025, as reported by Katadata. He acknowledged the quality of Xanh SM’s service, stating, “They launched a good product, and we believe they’ll be competitive in Indonesia.” Patrick also pointed out that while GoTo focuses on app-based transport services, Xanh SM comes from an automotive manufacturing background.

Xanh SM’s operations emphasize sustainability, aligning with Indonesia’s ambitions to reduce emissions. Mustofa, a Jakarta professional, shared, “Using Xanh SM feels like contributing to a greener environment while enjoying a hassle-free ride.”

As noted by Katadata, Indonesia’s position as one of the largest nickel producers globally—essential for EV battery production—makes the country a critical market for electric mobility solutions. Xanh SM’s entry into Jakarta signals a significant step toward this green future.
