PT Ravelware Technology Indonesia, a promising deep tech startup specializing in graphene-based solutions, has earned a place among the top 100 most innovative companies worldwide. The Jakarta-based startup will represent Indonesia at the Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC) Global Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 5 to 9, 2024.
As one of the largest global pitch competitions, EWC offers $1 million in cash prizes and additional investments and support. Co-hosted by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and Saudi Arabia’s Monsha’at, the event has become a key platform for startups to gain visibility, mentorship, and funding.
For Ravelware, being the only Indonesian company in the finals reflects the strength of the nation's startup ecosystem. “This recognition is a significant milestone for us,” said a representative of Ravelware. “It validates our vision to leverage graphene technology to create sustainable solutions for industries globally.”
The startup’s journey began with national and regional qualifiers, followed by a bootcamp for the top 250 companies. Now, as part of the EWC 100, Ravelware will compete against other early-stage and growth-stage startups across categories like sustainable environment, economies of the future, and industrial leadership.
“EWC 100 companies are led by founders with bold visions for change,” said Jonathan Ortmans, President of GEN. “This platform accelerates their journey toward innovation and impact.”
Graphene, a key focus of Ravelware’s technology, is known for its revolutionary potential across multiple industries, including electronics, energy storage, and materials science. By integrating this cutting-edge material into their solutions, Ravelware positions itself as a leader in the global transition toward sustainable technologies.
While competing for prizes, Ravelware will also explore opportunities within Saudi Arabia’s growing startup ecosystem, which has seen record-high venture capital investments in recent years. The exposure to global investors and market leaders is expected to open new avenues for the startup’s growth.
The Entrepreneurship World Cup has been instrumental in scaling startups, with over 430,000 registrations since its launch in 2019. By connecting founders with resources worth $266 million and offering a global platform, the competition has become a vital step for innovative startups like Ravelware aiming to disrupt global markets.
As Ravelware steps onto the global stage, its participation underscores the potential of Indonesian startups to make a significant mark in the international arena. The company’s story is not only about technology but also about the entrepreneurial spirit driving Indonesia’s presence in the global innovation ecosystem.
