The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has met with more than 100 global investors, who expressed appreciation for the ongoing Indonesia Capital Market Integrity Reform Acceleration Action Plan.

Chairwoman of OJK's Board of Commissioners Friderica Widyasari Dewi said the investors shared constructive feedback and generally welcomed the initiatives being implemented.

Global Investors Appreciate Ongoing Reform Initiatives

Friderica said OJK recently met with more than 100 global investors abroad to discuss the ongoing reform program.

"We also just met with more than 100 global investors abroad yesterday. We listened to many valuable suggestions, and in general they appreciated all the initiatives we have undertaken. What they are waiting for is consistency," she said.

She said OJK and the Self-Regulatory Organizations (SROs) assured the investors that they remain committed to continuing the implementation of programs under the Indonesia Capital Market Integrity Reform Acceleration Action Plan in a consistent and measurable manner.

OJK Commits to Consistent Implementation and Enforcement

Friderica said OJK will also follow up on areas that require improvement together with stakeholders.

"So, we conveyed that we are committed to consistently carrying out integrity reforms in the capital market, especially from the enforcement perspective," she said.

Reform Agenda Includes Greater Market Transparency

Friderica explained that the reform agenda includes gradually increasing the minimum public shareholding (free float) requirement to up to 15 percent.

The program also includes opening and providing share ownership data for holdings exceeding 1 percent and monitoring High Shareholding Concentration (HSC).

In addition, OJK plans to provide Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) data to increase transparency regarding the identities of the ultimate beneficial owners of listed companies.

The reform will also expand investor classification granularity to 39 investor categories.

Stock Exchange Demutualization Planned Under Reform Program

The reform agenda also includes the demutualization of the stock exchange.

According to Friderica, the process aims to strengthen governance, reduce conflicts of interest, and create broader ownership and investment opportunities.
