How International Cooperation Under PEKKI 2025 Helps Safeguard Indonesia’s Economic Stability

Bank Indonesia launched the Perkembangan Ekonomi Keuangan dan Kerja Sama Internasional (PEKKI) 2025 report in Jakarta (08/12), highlighting the importance of international cooperation in maintaining macroeconomic stability and financial system resilience.

Deputy Governor Filianingsih Hendarta said, “The big ship is us, Indonesia. And the large waves that keep coming are external pressures that will continue to hit the global economy throughout 2025. However, Indonesia’s resilience remains intact.”

International Cooperation as a Pillar of Economic Stability

The PEKKI 2025 report focuses on the theme “Resilience in Navigating Global Uncertainty”. Bank Indonesia continues to actively engage in international forums and strengthen economic diplomacy as part of the strategy to maintain national economic resilience.

The report launch included an international seminar discussing geo-economics, geopolitics, and international cooperation strategies. Former Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi highlighted that each country has strengths that can serve as strategic assets. For Indonesia, leveraging trust from other countries helps bridge differences and reinforce economic diplomacy.

Economic Outlook and Policy Measures for 2025–2027

Indonesia’s economic growth for 2025 is projected to reach 4.7–5.5%, supported by solid consumption, improved investment, and positive exports. The rupiah remains relatively stable, foreign exchange reserves are strong, and inflation is within the target range.

Filianingsih added, “These conditions reflect Bank Indonesia’s efforts to read the direction of the wind, observe global dynamics as a ship’s crew watches the stars, and ensure fuel is sufficient, so Indonesia can continue to move forward amid waves of uncertainty.”

Seminar Highlights on Global Dynamics and National Strategy

The PEKKI 2025 seminar emphasized the strategic role of international trust in supporting Indonesia’s economic interests. Discussions showed that countries can use their unique strengths to navigate global uncertainties and that Indonesia’s diplomacy plays a crucial role in maintaining economic resilience.
