Indonesia's Halal Industry Investment Reaches IDR 7.2 Trillion at Halal Indo 2025 Expo

The Halal Indo 2025 x Industrial Festival concluded on Sunday, September 28, after gathering government officials, industry players, students, and the public. This event has become a vital platform to enhance the national halal industry ecosystem through exhibitions, workshops, business matching, halal certification facilitation, public service units on-site, talk shows, and musical performances.

Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated, “Halal Indo 2025 x Industrial Festival is an important moment to prove the readiness of the domestic halal industry to grow and compete globally. Through this event, we have also opened opportunities for international cooperation.”

Significant Increase in Participation and Economic Transactions

Held from September 25 to 28, the exhibition recorded participation from 346 exhibitors from both domestic and international origins, marking a 14.6% increase from last year's 302 participants. Visitor numbers surged over 27,000, a 230% rise compared to 12,000 visitors in 2024. During the event, transactions reached Rp 7.7 billion, a fivefold increase from Rp 1.3 billion the previous year.

Investment commitments at Halal Indo 2025 reached Rp 7.2 trillion, rising 20% from Rp 6 trillion in 2024. This investment covers collaborations in infrastructure development for the halal industry, industry expansion within specific zones, and global halal industry promotion.

International Partnerships Drive Halal Industry Development

The event also saw significant agreements through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Records of Discussion (RoDs) with strategic partner countries. These agreements focus on halal industry development, promotion, comparative studies, and innovation.

Indonesia strengthened collaboration with China via an MoU on halal industry cooperation with the China FDSA. Likewise, Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan formalized cooperation through a Record of Discussion with the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ministry of Economy and Trade.

“The exhibition is not just a promotion platform for the domestic halal industry but a space for global collaboration. The signed MoUs reflect international confidence in Indonesia’s halal industry. We hope these commitments can strengthen the halal sector’s contribution to national economic growth,” the Minister added.

Government and Industry Collaboration to Strengthen Halal Certification and Market Access

Another notable cooperation emerged between the Ministry of Industry’s Halal Industry Center and Halal Inspection Agencies (LPH) to facilitate halal certification for Small Industries (IK). This partnership aims to prepare small industries for mandatory halal certification and expand their market reach.

At the closing session, Kemenperin Secretary-General Eko S. A. Cahyanto emphasized the high optimism among visitors about developing the national halal industry ecosystem. “The synergy between government, industry players, society, and other stakeholders is crucial in building a resilient and inclusive domestic halal industry,” he said.

The conclusion of Halal Indo 2025 x Industrial Festival reaffirms the Ministry of Industry’s commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s halal industry amid global industrial challenges while broadening market access. The Ministry also pledged to follow up on the agreements made to advance the domestic halal industry.
