Indonesia's Top Telecom Operators Ensure Stable Internet Amid Ongoing Protests

Mobile network operators in Indonesia—Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Telkomsel, and XLSMart—have disclosed the current condition of the country’s telecommunications infrastructure, especially internet access, amid demonstrations occurring across several regions.

Each operator emphasized its commitment to maintaining service quality to ensure that the public can continue communicating without interruption.

Indosat Relies on AI-Based Monitoring to Sustain Connectivity

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH), through Director & Chief Technology Officer Desmond Cheung, underscored the critical role of digital connectivity for the public under any circumstances.

“Indosat remains committed to maintaining optimal and high-quality data and cellular services, including during the current situation,” Desmond stated.

He explained that Indosat monitors its network 24/7 through the Digital Intelligence Operations Center (DIOC), equipped with AI/ML technology and automation systems. With proactive, real-time management, customers can continue to enjoy reliable digital experiences at any time and place.

Telkomsel Implements Real-Time Measures to Avoid Disruptions

Telkomsel also confirmed that its communication services remain secure and operational. According to Juanita Erawati, Vice President Global Network Operations, full-time network surveillance is conducted via Telkomsel’s Network Operation Center (NOC).

“Telkomsel conducts full 24/7 monitoring through the Network Operation Center (NOC) and prepares preventive technical measures, from network capacity adjustments at specific points, real-time monitoring using AI-based Autonomous Network to prevent disruptions and carry out optimizations, to the readiness of field teams stationed throughout Indonesia,” Juanita said.

Telkomsel considers reliable communication access essential for keeping the public connected and productive in daily activities.

XLSMart States Network Running Normally

XLSMart reported that its services are functioning without issues. Reza Mirza, Group Head Corporate Communications & Sustainability, confirmed the network’s stability.

“The XLSMart service is currently operating normally and is not experiencing disruptions. User comfort and smooth service are XLSMart’s priorities,” he said.

The company is also conducting monitoring and anticipatory steps to prevent potential disturbances, ensuring that customer communications continue without problems.
