Indonesia Begins Nationwide Digital Child Health Checks with Connectivity in Over 282,000 Schools

Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has begun the digitalization of the School Free Health Check (CKG) program, targeting over 53 million students in 282,317 schools across the country.

Minister Meutya Hafid stressed the importance of reliable connectivity for this initiative, as all data is processed through an online application.

“When this is done on a massive scale, the data will be extraordinarily large, so having good connectivity is important,” she said during a visit to SMPK Penabur Gading Serpong in Tangerang, Banten, on August 4, 2025.

Reliable Internet Connectivity Becomes the Backbone of the Initiative

Komdigi continues to monitor internet quality in areas where the CKG program is implemented, using both fixed broadband and cellular networks to ensure smooth data input.

Communication and Health Ministries Collaborate to Ensure Infrastructure

Lucia Rizka Andalusia, Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices at the Ministry of Health, highlighted the need for connectivity support, especially in regions with limited internet access.

“We use an application to input all examination results. That’s why Komdigi’s support related to internet signals is very important,” she explained.

Part of President Prabowo’s Flagship Health Agenda

The CKG School program is the government’s second Quick Impact Program (PHTC) under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, following the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

It aims to improve the health quality of Indonesian children, particularly school-age students.
