Indonesia’s state-owned energy company Pertamina has signed a memorandum of understanding to purchase liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, and crude oil from the United States.
The announcement was made by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto in an interview with Reuters on Tuesday (8/7).
“Pertamina has signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of LPG, gasoline, and crude oil from the U.S.,” Hartarto stated.
In addition to the energy deal, two Indonesian companies, FKS Group and Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo, have also formalized an agreement to import corn from U.S. agribusiness giant Cargill.
“FKS Group and Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo have also signed an agreement to purchase corn from Cargill,” Hartarto said.
The agreements underscore ongoing trade engagement between Indonesia and the United States, with deals spanning both the energy and agricultural sectors.
