BRI Among Asia-Pacific’s Top 500 Companies in 2025

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRI) has once again gained international recognition by securing a position in the Asia-Pacific’s Best Companies of 2025 list by TIME and Statista. This achievement places BRI among leading global corporations, including Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Nissan Motor Corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation, and Nippon Life Insurance Company.

According to TIME, the ranking of 500 top companies in the Asia-Pacific region is based on a comprehensive analysis across three key aspects: employee satisfaction, financial performance, and transparency in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.

The employee satisfaction criteria were evaluated through direct and indirect recommendations from employees. Meanwhile, the financial performance aspect was measured by analyzing company revenue growth over the past few years with data sourced from Statista.

For ESG transparency, companies were assessed based on their carbon emission reduction, rankings from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the percentage of women in board positions, and adherence to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports. The ranking also considered compliance and anti-corruption policies as part of strong corporate governance.

BRI’s President Director, Sunarso, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating, “This recognition proves BRI’s success in maintaining financial resilience while supporting the people’s economy. Our commitment to inclusive and sustainable financing, as well as empowering MSMEs, remains a key driver of Indonesia’s economic growth.”

In 2024, BRI recorded a net profit of IDR 60.64 trillion, reflecting the bank’s strong performance and ability to generate value for shareholders and stakeholders. By the end of December 2024, BRI’s total assets reached IDR 1,992.98 trillion, marking a 1.42% year-on-year growth.

BRI’s credit disbursement also showed a positive trend, reaching IDR 1,354.64 trillion, a 6.97% YoY increase. The majority of this credit, 81.97%, was allocated to the MSME sector, amounting to IDR 1,110.37 trillion.

This achievement reinforces BRI’s strategic focus on sustainable banking, ensuring financial growth while supporting Indonesia’s economic development.
