The BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) 2025 officially concluded on February 2, marking another milestone in Indonesia’s efforts to expand MSME exports. Over four days at ICE BSD City, the event welcomed more than 63,000 visitors and facilitated business transactions worth IDR 38.9 billion. More significantly, business matching sessions led to commitment deals totaling USD 90.6 million (around IDR 1.5 trillion).
BRI President Director Sunarso highlighted the expo’s success in helping Indonesian MSMEs tap into global markets. “This event has exceeded expectations, not just in visitor numbers but also in transaction volume,” he said.
This year’s expo brought together 1,000 MSMEs from various sectors, showcasing Indonesia’s finest products to international buyers. The event drew 506 registered buyers from 34 countries, a sharp increase from the initial target of 94 buyers from 33 countries. Over three days, 166 MSMEs engaged in 270 business meetings, fostering new export opportunities.
One of the biggest wins from the expo came from PT Siger Jaya Abadi, which secured a USD 13.05 million export contract with Bluestar Food Corporation, a U.S.-based company. This deal reflects the growing global demand for Indonesian products and the competitive edge of local businesses.
To sustain this momentum, BRI announced plans to hold business matching sessions twice a month in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade. The initiative aims to connect more Indonesian MSMEs with international markets, ensuring long-term growth.
As part of its commitment to MSME development, BRI also recognized outstanding participants through its UMKM Awards. The awards were divided into three categories:
- Top Deals on Business Matching: Awarded to MSMEs with the highest potential export deals, including Bintang Kita Kemuliaan, Albasi Karang Layung, and Gula Aren Temon.
- Newcomers on Business Matching: Given to first-time exporters who secured international buyers, such as Rumah Atsiri Indonesia and Minyak Sacha Inchi.
- Best Expo: Recognizing MSMEs excelling in digital adaptation and export readiness, with winners like Sila Agri Inovasi and Restu Mande.
The expo’s achievements reinforce BRI’s role in empowering MSMEs and supporting their expansion into global markets. With rising international interest, Indonesian MSMEs are well-positioned to scale their businesses beyond domestic borders.
