J&T Express Reports 31% Growth in Package Volume for 2024

J&T Express, a leading logistics company, reported impressive growth in 2024, handling 24.65 billion packages—a 31% increase year-over-year. In the fourth quarter alone, the company processed 7.39 billion packages, a 32.5% rise from the previous year. This growth, driven by strong performance in Southeast Asia and China, highlights J&T's expanding influence in the express delivery market.

Dylan Tey, Chief Financial Officer of J&T Express, attributed the growth to several factors, including a lower base in the previous year and an increase in e-commerce shipments during shopping festivals like 11.11. “In China, we capitalized on the rapid growth of the express delivery industry by strengthening our position with key e-commerce platforms. Our strategic focus on reverse logistics and individual package delivery also contributed to our strong results,” Tey said.

Southeast Asia was a major contributor to J&T's success, with the company reporting a 62.5% growth in package volume during the fourth quarter of 2024, totaling 1.4 billion packages. For the year, the region’s package volume reached 4.56 billion, an increase of 40.8%, surpassing market expectations.

In China, J&T Express also saw substantial growth, with fourth-quarter volume rising by 27.4% to 5.91 billion packages. The total annual volume in China reached 19.8 billion packages, marking a 29.1% increase. The company also saw modest growth in new markets such as the Middle East and Latin America, with a 22.1% increase year-over-year, totaling 280 million packages.

J&T Express continued to invest in infrastructure throughout 2024, expanding its fleet and deploying automated sorting equipment. The company added 1,300 line-haul vehicles in Southeast Asia and 900 in China, bringing its total fleet to 4,600 and 7,100 vehicles, respectively. The number of automatic sorting machines across its markets grew by 45 units, reaching 279.

The company’s strategic investments in optimizing partnerships, expanding its network, and improving sorting facilities have allowed it to enhance operational efficiency. By the end of 2024, J&T Express was operating 19,100 outlets and 238 sorting centers.
