Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) has set an ambitious target of 10 million users for its BYOND by BSI app by the end of 2025. Since its launch on November 9, 2024, the superapp has already garnered 2 million users, showing strong initial momentum.

To achieve this target, BSI is intensifying efforts to encourage both new and existing customers to adopt the platform. CEO Hery Gunardi emphasized the app’s role in enhancing customer experience with advanced features unavailable in the previous BSI Mobile app.

“Six million BSI Mobile users will be migrated to BYOND, along with 13 million other customers we aim to convert into users. BYOND offers immense benefits as a superapp,” said Hery during a press briefing on January 2, 2025.

To facilitate the migration process, BSI has simplified the steps. Customers can download BYOND by BSI from Google Playstore or Apple Appstore and activate their accounts using e-KTP, a debit card, and account information. As part of the migration drive, users also stand a chance to win an Umrah package by completing financial transactions through the app, with winners selected via a computerized system.

BSI has introduced features like BI Fast for low-cost interbank transfers, streamlined e-wallet management, and exclusive promotional offers. These additions aim to attract a broader user base and strengthen the app’s appeal.

Hery expressed optimism about BYOND by BSI’s future, describing the app as a milestone in delivering modern, inclusive Sharia banking solutions. “Reaching 2 million users is just the beginning. With dedication and innovation, I’m confident we’ll exceed our goals in 2025.”
