Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman said the ministry has purchased the seed for cultivation across 13,000 hectares in Surabaya, with a total value of Rp10 billion, and the seed will be distributed free of charge to farmers there. The minister said the variety was selected because its productivity is above the national average.

The goal is straightforward: increase corn output without relying only on land expansion.
