OJK Launches PINTAR Mutual Fund Program to Boost Indonesia Capital Market and Financial Inclusion

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) officially launched the Investment Planning and Regular Mutual Fund Program (PINTAR Reksa Dana) to strengthen Indonesia’s capital market and expand public participation in investment instruments, especially mutual funds. (27/04)

The launch was conducted by OJK Chairperson Friderica Widyasari Dewi together with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at the Main Hall of the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta.

Friderica stated that the program is part of the eight-point action plan for capital market integrity reform, which emphasizes that market strengthening is supported not only by governance quality but also by broader investor participation.

She said, “This program is also part of systemic reform to strengthen the role of the capital market as a pillar of long-term financing for the national economy.”

Government Supports Program to Boost Investment and Financial Inclusion

Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that Indonesia’s capital market conditions have improved and are safe for investors to increase participation, including through the PINTAR Mutual Fund Program.

He said, “Now supervision in the capital market has been improved. Your investment in the capital market is guaranteed in terms of safety. Our capital market has improved its integrity well, and in the future, it is a safe place to invest.”

He added that integrity and governance are essential in capital market management because a clean market increases investor confidence and strengthens Indonesia’s credibility in the eyes of global investors.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto also welcomed the program, stating that it supports efforts to improve public welfare, including for younger generations.

He said, “The government continues to strengthen the economy, one of which is by expanding market access. We also hope the capital market is not only built for today but for the future of the younger generation. The capital market is expected to be more inclusive and grow sustainably.”

OJK Emphasizes Market Integrity and Investor Protection

OJK Executive Head of Capital Market Supervision, Derivatives Finance, and Carbon Exchange Hasan Fawzi said the launch of the PINTAR Mutual Fund Program is a strategic momentum to accelerate investment inclusion, especially among younger generations.

He stated that market deepening must be carried out in an integrated manner through stakeholder collaboration.

He said the PINTAR Mutual Fund Program, combined with the SIMUDA Program, is a concrete step to expand access and encourage wider participation, including beginner investors.

Hasan also emphasized that market deepening is not only measured by the increase in investor numbers but also by the strengthening of the overall market ecosystem quality.

He added that industry players are expected to play an active role in providing public education and that associations are encouraged to carry out self-control mechanisms and market conduct oversight as early prevention of potential violations.

Industry Collaboration and Mutual Fund Week 2026 Support Program

The launch of the PINTAR Mutual Fund Program was also held alongside the opening of Mutual Fund Week 2026 organized by the Indonesian Mutual Fund and Investment Association (APRDI), held from 25 April to 1 May 2026 as an annual agenda.

APRDI Chairperson Lolita Lilana stated that the mutual fund industry still requires innovation and creativity to develop products that match public needs and preferences, as well as continued support and incentives to build an investment culture.

She said, “The PINTAR Mutual Fund Program is expected to encourage the public to start investing regularly and in a planned manner to achieve future financial goals.”

She also noted that in improving public literacy on mutual funds, APRDI together with OJK and self-regulatory organizations has conducted educational programs in six cities: Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, Makassar, Bandung, and Palembang, reaching 250 journalists and 2,500 university students.
