GoPay Launches Balance Protection Guarantee to Safeguard Users from Unauthorized Losses

GoPay has launched the Balance Protection Guarantee, a new feature designed to protect users from lost balances caused by account misuse (06/01). The initiative aims to ensure users remain confident and secure when conducting digital transactions.

The program provides additional protection if an account is misused by unauthorized parties.

GoPay Emphasizes User Safety and Education

Audrey Progastama Petriny, Head of Corporate Affairs at GoPay, said the Balance Protection Guarantee offers peace of mind for users who frequently transact on the platform. She explained that users can submit claims for lost balances in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions.

“We also continue to educate users to stay vigilant against various fraud risks and digital security threats,” Audrey said in a press release received by SWA.co.id in Jakarta on Tuesday (06/01).

Types of Incidents Covered by the Balance Protection Guarantee

Claims can be submitted if losses occur due to brute force attacks or forced account takeovers by irresponsible parties. The guarantee also applies in cases of phone loss when the account is misused following the loss of a mobile device.

These conditions define when users are eligible to request balance recovery.

Steps to File a GoPay Balance Recovery Claim

Users can submit balance recovery claims directly through the GoPay application. The process involves accessing the Settings and Security menu, selecting GoPay Safe, clicking Balance Protection Guarantee, and completing the claim form for further processing.

The program applies to users who have upgraded to GoPay Plus, activated a transaction PIN before the incident, and did not share their PIN or one-time password (OTP) with anyone prior to the incident.

GoPay Reminds Users to Maintain Account Security

To increase awareness, GoPay urges users to protect their e-wallet accounts. Recommended steps include using a strong PIN and changing it regularly, not sharing OTP codes, avoiding suspicious files or links, and keeping personal data and information confidential.
