Why MDI Ventures and Goers Are Investing in Playground Renovation to Boost Family Tourism and History Learning

MDI Ventures, a venture capital subsidiary of PT Telkom Indonesia, together with ticketing platform Goers, launched a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program called “Heritage for the Next Generation” to renovate and improve the playground at Museum Benteng Vredeburg (15/12).

The opening included workshops on managing child and family visitors, public activations in the playground, an art exhibition titled “Aku dan Vredeburg”, children’s performances, and an opening ceremony at the museum.

Museum Benteng Vredeburg Welcomes Hundreds of Thousands of Visitors

Museum Benteng Vredeburg, a key historical destination in the Malioboro area, received over 450,000 visitors from January to November 2025. Most visitors were families with children, and over 80,000 were children, showing the need for educational, engaging, and comfortable facilities for young audiences.

CSR Program Aims for Inclusive and Interactive Playground Renovation

Through “Heritage for the Next Generation”, MDI Ventures and Goers aim to complete the playground renovation by April 2026. The project will create an inclusive and interactive environment that enriches family tourism experiences while introducing historical values to young generations.

Director of MDI Ventures, Roby Roediyanto, said at the opening ceremony that MDI Ventures believes education and history should be accessible in an inclusive and enjoyable way. He added that the program aims to contribute to public spaces that support children’s development while strengthening tourism appeal sustainably.

Goers Highlights Digital and Physical Visitor Experiences

Goers provides easy access to entertainment tickets and digitalizes visitor management. COO Niki Tsuraya Yaumi said that every day, they help thousands of visitors access educational and tourism experiences through technology. She noted that the best experiences depend not only on digitalization but also on the quality of the physical spaces visitors attend.

She added that they want children to learn in engaging places that spark curiosity. She also hopes the playground becomes an inspiring space that enhances family comfort during visits.

The program is expected to be a practical example of collaboration between the corporate sector and public institutions to provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable educational space for children.
