DANA Premium Mini Launches to Help Indonesian Teens Access Safe and Inclusive Digital Finance Services

DANA introduced DANA Premium Mini (Premini), a new feature that allows teenagers aged 13 to under 17 to open a DANA Premium account using KIA-based electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) with parental approval (25/11).

The launch aims to provide safe, inclusive, and educational access to digital financial services while building early financial literacy and responsible transaction habits among Indonesian families.

Vince Iswara, CEO & Co-Founder of DANA Indonesia, said the company remains committed to strengthening digital financial inclusion and ensuring safe access for all groups, including young users.

He thanked the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) and the Ministry of Home Affairs for their partnership in enabling identity verification using the Child Identity Card.

Findings from the 2025 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) by OJK and BPS show that although national inclusion continues to rise, teenagers aged 15–17 still face barriers.

Their inclusion index stands at 74 percent, below the national figure of 80.51 percent, largely because they do not yet have an electronic ID card. This highlights the importance of features such as DANA Premium Mini in helping them access formal digital financial services.

KIA-Based e-KYC and Parental Approval Strengthen Secure Digital Use

DANA observed a growing number of teenagers wanting to access digital finance and parents requesting safer, supervised solutions.

With KIA-based identity verification and parental approval, DANA Premium Mini responds to this need by creating a more controlled and secure environment for young users.

The feature also supports the government’s PP No. 17/2025 on electronic system governance for child protection (PP TUNAS), reinforcing DANA’s commitment to a safe digital ecosystem for all users.

Collaboration with Government Agencies Supports Digital Identity Integration

The introduction of DANA Premium Mini is the result of collaboration between DANA, Dukcapil, and the Ministry of Home Affairs as part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s Digital Public Infrastructure.

The integration of e-KYC based on KIA enables valid, fast, and secure identity verification aligned with national population data regulations.

Dr. Handayani Ningrum, Director of National Population Data Integration at Dukcapil, said that DANA Premium Mini uses population data securely and allows verification by matching the child’s details with parents or the head of the household in the same Family Card.

She noted that more than 50 million children in Indonesia do not have electronic ID cards, making this approach an important step in supporting national financial inclusion while maintaining strict data protection compliance.

Parental Supervision Features Promote Early Financial Literacy

Actress and presenter Mona Ratuliu, who attended the launch, emphasized the importance of educating children about money management.

She said she appreciates DANA Premium Mini as a tool that can help parents guide their teenagers to become wiser and more independent in digital financial activities.

DANA Premium Mini is designed to support responsible money and transaction management.

The account includes a maximum balance limit of Rp2,000,000, and supports balance top-ups, QRIS payments, and transfers between users, with safety features tailored to young users.

Activation requires digital approval from parents, who receive notifications in the DANA app.

Parents can monitor their child’s transactions and adjust the “Send Money” feature to guide spending and support family financial learning.

The launch also aligns with the government’s plan to raise youth financial literacy and inclusion as part of the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), which targets higher national financial inclusion.

DANA continues its commitment to supporting a financially literate and digitally safe young generation through the theme, “Build Financial Inclusion, Create a Generation of Smart and Safe Digital Users.”
