BSI and Muhammadiyah Sign MoU to Drive Sharia Digital Economy via MASA SuperApp

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) and the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah strengthened their cooperation to support the economic activities of Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah (AUM) through syariah financial solutions during a MoU signing event in Bandung (17/11).

The collaboration aims to provide syariah transaction services across Muhammadiyah’s economic network.

MoU Signed During Muhammadiyah’s 113th Anniversary Event

The MoU was signed by BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo and Muhammadiyah Chairman Prof. Dr. H. Haedar Nashir, M.Si., during the series of events for Muhammadiyah’s 113th anniversary held at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung, West Java.

The ceremony was attended by BSI President Commissioner Prof. Muhadjir Effendi, BSI Retail Banking Director Kemas Erwan Husainy, and leaders of the Muhammadiyah Central Board.

The agreement covers syariah banking services, including cash management, savings products such as mudharabah accounts, current accounts, deposits, syariah financing, and business cooperation.

It also includes PPOB service points, co-branded multifunction cards, and non-commercial initiatives to support UMKM communities.

MASA SuperApp to Unite Muhammadiyah’s Digital Platforms

BSI will later join the Muhammadiyah Aisyiah SuperApp (MASA), which is still under development and will integrate all Muhammadiyah digital platforms.

The SuperApp will also connect with SatuMu, a unified digital platform that manages membership data, organizational information, iuran payments, AUM governance, health services, and other features.

SatuMu currently has six total features, with two already active: the Muhammadiyah membership card recording three million members, and the Muhammadiyah Organization Directory (DOM).

Four remaining features—IuranMU, JDIH, AUM Management System, and Health Management System (PKU)—are still in the development plan.

BSI Opens Access to Syariah Services for AUM Network

As part of the collaboration, BSI will provide a payment platform for Muhammadiyah membership fees through the BYOND application and offer a platform to support AUM management.

BSI also provided scholarships to 31 students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung during the MoU event.

Leaders Highlight Shared Commitment to Supporting the Community

Muhammadiyah Chairman Prof. Haedar Nashir expressed gratitude for BSI’s commitment to supporting economic and community welfare efforts.

He said in English translation, “Hopefully this MoU will also be beneficial for the people.”

BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo said he was grateful and proud to collaborate with Muhammadiyah, noting its social, educational, health, and economic activities.

He stated in English translation, “Muhammadiyah is the oldest Islamic organization and also the initiator of syariah economics that has been an important part of Indonesia’s journey.”

He added that the collaboration aims to build shared initiatives through literacy, syariah digital transactions, and integrated systems for zakat, infak, and sedekah through the BAIQ Core application.

BSI currently works with almost 6,000 AUM accounts covering health, education, and other services, and serves more than 50,000 people within the AUM ecosystem.
