From Hobby to Startup: UNAIR Students Launch GC Gamingstore Top Up Platform

A student team from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has successfully secured funding in the 2025 Student Entrepreneur Development Program (P2MW). Their business idea, GC Gamingstore, is a digital platform that offers integrated game top-up services and supports the development of e-sports athletes at both national and international levels.

The GC Gamingstore team consists of UNAIR students from various faculties, including Pandika Ardi H., Putra Anindita, Martliana Putri, and Alwan Hakin RamCadhani from the Vocational Faculty, as well as Alam Syah Ramadhani from the Faculty of Economics and Business.

Their journey began in June 2025, starting with proposal drafting and campus-level selection, eventually progressing to the national stage. Following this process, they were declared eligible for official funding from Belmawa Dikti.

GC Gamingstore: Gamer Skills Turned into Business Innovation

“The innovation we’re offering is the GC Gamingstore platform,” said Alam Syah Ramadhani, a team member. “It not only provides top-up game services, but also opens opportunities for gamers to grow into pro players. Our hope is that this business can bring real impact to the Indonesian e-sports ecosystem.”

Monthly Mentorship and Campus Support Strengthen the Business

The team received regular support from Universitas Airlangga. The university organized monthly mentoring sessions and conducted P2MW workshops twice a week for one full month. These sessions featured speakers with expertise relevant to student business development, including digital marketing strategies and startup financial management.

GC Gamingstore Prepares for KMI Expo and Expansion Plans

GC Gamingstore is aiming to move forward to the final stage of the competition at the upcoming KMI Expo. The team also plans to seek additional funding from other investors, enhance the features of their website, and improve the quality of their human resources to better meet the needs of gamers.

“Our spirit is to prove that gamer skills should not be underestimated. In fact, if directed properly, these skills can grow into a promising profession,” added Alam.
