Ipsos Survey Reveals Digital Banking as the Top Solution for Daily Transactions in Indonesia

Ipsos Indonesia recently released findings from its latest survey about public trust in digital banking services. The online survey involved men and women aged 18 to 55 across Indonesia, who use digital banking at least once a month. The goal was to understand usage patterns and identify which digital banking apps consumers trust most.

Data from Bank Indonesia shows a positive trend in digital banking growth. In November 2024, digital banking transactions increased by 40.1% year-on-year. This upward trajectory continued into 2025, with digital payment transactions growing 52.3%. By July 2025, Bank Indonesia recorded a 45.3% year-on-year increase in digital payments.

Ease of use and security are major factors encouraging people to adopt digital banking, aligning with this trend.

SeaBank Tops as the Most Trusted Digital Banking App

Ipsos’ survey found SeaBank ranked first as the safest and easiest app for daily transactions, chosen by 47% of respondents. Bank Jago followed with 30%, and Neo Bank with 27%.

The survey identified key reasons users preferred these apps:

  • QRIS Payment Ease: 48% of respondents were satisfied with SeaBank’s QRIS payment convenience, followed by Superbank and Neo Bank, each with 45%.
  • Free Interbank Transfers: 51% praised SeaBank’s transfer promotions, with Superbank at 48% and Neo Bank at 42%.
  • Easy E-wallet Top-ups: 53% of users were satisfied with SeaBank’s top-up services, trailed by Bank Jago (46%) and Superbank (44%).
  • Security and App Interconnectivity: 53% appreciated SeaBank’s security and integration, followed by Bank Jago (45%) and Allo Bank (41%).

Hansal Savla, Managing Director of Ipsos Indonesia, said, “In a world of global uncertainty and growing consumer caution, people seek financial services that are safe, transparent, and efficient. The increasing choice of digital banking apps for daily transactions shows the importance of trust and ease in Indonesia’s digital financial ecosystem.”

Young Generations Drive Digital Banking Adoption

The survey also highlighted that Gen Z and Millennials are the most active users of digital banking in Indonesia. They engage with banking apps 1 to 10 times per month, performing activities such as transfers, e-wallet top-ups, QRIS payments, saving, and routine bill payments.

This finding underscores digital banking as a practical solution for managing daily finances safely and conveniently for younger generations.

Hansal added, “Digital banking is not just about ease of transaction, but about building trust and relevance to people’s needs. Going forward, we expect young people to play a key role in shaping Indonesia’s digital banking ecosystem.”

Survey Methodology and Respondent Profile

Ipsos Indonesia conducted this survey online in 2025 through its Digital Platform (Fast Facts). The study included 300 respondents from all over Indonesia.

Participants were men and women aged 18 to 55 from all socioeconomic levels, active internet and e-commerce users, with at least one digital bank account and a minimum monthly digital banking activity.
