With the slogan “Weaving Tradition into Today’s Trends,” Rekatra participated in the 2025 West Java Integrated Entrepreneur Hub held on September 17–18 at Aula Barat, ITB Ganesha Campus.
The startup showcased its debut collection titled “Sekapur Sirih,” which featured various obi models made from lurik, batik, and lace as decorative elements.
Rekatra originated from five students who joined the Student Entrepreneur Program (PMW) organized by DKST ITB. The idea to produce obi using Wastra Nusantara fabrics emerged during this program. It later led to Rekatra’s involvement as a collaborator in Semarak Budaya ITB 2025 and an opportunity to present their products at Alun-Alun Indonesia.
"Interestingly, I’m the only one from the Faculty of Art and Design on our team," said Ozi, Chief Operating Officer of Rekatra, Wednesday (September 17, 2025).
The team comprises five active ITB students: Yazid Nur Hidayat as CEO, Ahmad Faozi as COO, Hasna Yasmin as CMO, Izza Nasira as CFO, and Hafanza Misni as CTO.
Obi Innovation with Wastra Nusantara as a Cultural Statement
"With this team, we are building a sustainability system so Rekatra can continue to grow, even as we pursue our individual careers," said Izza, Wednesday (September 17, 2025).
Within a year, Rekatra received collaboration offers, including providing obi for all committee members of Semarak Budaya ITB 2025.
This became a new challenge due to time constraints. Shortly afterward, Rekatra was selected as an exhibitor at Alun-Alun Indonesia.
Collaborative Projects Boost Market Presence
"The recent Semarak Budaya was an extraordinary portfolio project because of the large order volume and high exposure. We also learned a lot about technical coordination with external parties," said Ozi, Wednesday (September 17, 2025).
Rekatra’s booth drew attention from visitors, including Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Maman Abdurrahman.
Strengthening the Team and Expanding to E-Commerce Platforms
Rekatra is also preparing short-term missions. They aim to develop their products while strengthening the team.
"In the next year, we aim to form a more solid team, create sustainable products with reversible outcomes, and plan to enter online marketplaces for sales," said Izza.
