Indonesia-based employment platform Pintarnya has secured US$16.7 million in a Series A funding round. The investment was led by Square Peg, with existing backer Vertex Ventures also participating.
Pintarnya uses artificial intelligence to match job-seekers with opportunities, create CVs, and file automated job applications. The platform serves more than 10 million users and 40,000 employers, offering over 100,000 job listings.
Co-founder Henry Hendrawan said Pintarnya has facilitated over eight million employment matches. The platform partners with lenders to provide financial services, focusing on workers with irregular income and limited banking access.
Loans on Pintarnya are backed by collateral such as gold, electronics, or motor vehicles. More than 200,000 users have accessed credit for healthcare, education, and small business needs through these partnerships.
The fresh capital will enhance Pintarnya’s capabilities and expand access to financial services in Indonesia. Tushar Roy, partner at Square Peg, highlighted the importance of scaling this infrastructure for Indonesia’s economy.
