Indonesia’s Role in Making SIJORI the Next Regional Hub for AI and Digital Infrastructure Growth

The SIJORI region, comprising Singapore, Johor, and Riau, has affirmed its position as the next-generation regional gateway for the artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure ecosystem in Southeast Asia (14/7).

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), through its subsidiary PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC), is demonstrating its readiness to take a central role by developing globally competitive AI-ready data centers.

NeutraDC Champions Indonesia’s Position in AI-Ready Infrastructure

At the SIJORI Cloud & Datacenter Convention 2025 in Singapore, NeutraDC Group CEO Andreuw Th. A.F. highlighted the need for synergy to ensure inclusive and sustainable digital growth.

“To face the increasingly complex AI era, we need more than just land and energy. We need synergy among industry players, policymakers, and cross-border technology, with Indonesia as the main catalyst,” he said during the panel discussion on July 10.

He stated that the strengths of each area in SIJORI must be seen as complementary, Batam as an interconnection hub, Johor with its expansion capacity, and Singapore as the regulatory and sustainability anchor.

According to Andreuw, Indonesia's infrastructure readiness and policy direction can strengthen the orchestration of the AI ecosystem.

Shared Intelligence and Regional Synergy: The SIJORI Model

NeutraDC stressed the importance of promoting collaborative platforms and digital integration that support cross-country interconnection.

Andreuw explained, “What we need is shared innovation space and an integrated data ecosystem”.

He emphasized that the development of shared intelligence through AI-ready data centers, regional connectivity, and continuous collaboration will drive more equitable and sustainable digital growth across the region.

Beyond Design: Sustainable Operations at NeutraDC Nxera Batam

Sustainability was also a major theme at the convention. COO of NeutraDC Nxera Batam, Kavin Wong, stated that sustainability is not only about how facilities are built but also about how data centers are operated daily.

“At NeutraDC Nxera Batam, we focus on operational sustainability—how we manage energy, cooling efficiency, and real-time monitoring. Sustainability is not just part of the design plan, but a way of working,” said Kavin Wong during a panel titled How Design and Operations Together Shape Sustainability in Data Centers.

AI Collaboration in Focus at Upcoming NeutraDC Summit 2025

NeutraDC will continue its collaborative approach by hosting the NeutraDC Summit 2025 on August 25, 2025, in Bali.

The event will bring together industry players, regulators, and technology innovators from the Asia-Pacific region, with a shared agenda to build a robust, efficient, and inclusive regional digital infrastructure.
