PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) reported a sharp rise in digital banking activity, with transaction values reaching Rp764.3 trillion year-on-year as of March 2025.
The number of users of BNI’s digital banking services rose to 24.4 million, reflecting a 53.8 percent increase.
“One of BNI’s key innovations in digital banking is the wondr by BNI application, which has achieved significant growth in both user base and transaction volume,” said Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo in a written statement on Wednesday.
The rise in users and transaction volume contributed to a 10.2 percent year-on-year increase in BNI’s savings funds, strengthening the bank’s Current Account Saving Account (CASA) structure and helping maintain efficient Cost of Fund.
Transaction Frequency Rises Sharply in Q1 2025
BNI’s digital platforms recorded significant growth in transaction frequency. In the first quarter of 2025, digital transactions totaled 501 million, compared to 318 million in the same quarter of 2024.
Of these, 283 million transactions were made via BNI Mobile Banking, while 218 million were processed through wondr by BNI.
“The high transaction frequency across digital channels supports more stable and efficient liquidity, reinforcing our CASA structure,” said Okki.
Corporate Digital Banking via BNIdirect Expands
BNI’s digital transformation also extends to corporate customers through the BNIdirect platform.
As of March 2025, BNIdirect’s user base increased by 7.2 percent year-on-year, reaching 188,000 users. Total transactions on the platform rose by 16.4 percent to 337 million.
This performance contributed to a 3.4 percent increase in current account balances and helped improve the Cost of Fund by 20 basis points.

Okki stated that BNI’s digital transformation goes beyond technology integration.
“We believe that a comprehensive digital transformation serving both retail and corporate customers is key to maintaining long-term efficiency and competitiveness,” he said.
