PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk’s mobile banking service, Muamalat DIN, recorded a significant double-digit growth in QRIS transactions during the first quarter of 2025 (10/6).
Both the number and volume of transactions showed strong upward trends, highlighting increased user engagement with digital payment solutions.
User Adoption and Transaction Volume Surge
Head of Digital Banking & Marketing Communication, Dadang Rohandi, revealed that Muamalat DIN processed 1.2 million QRIS transactions from January to March 2025.
This figure represents a 48% increase from 796,000 transactions during the same period in 2024.
"The rise in QRIS transactions on Muamalat DIN indicates customers are increasingly comfortable transacting digitally. Transactions have become more practical, secure, and hygienic by reducing cash usage," said Dadang.
Transaction volume also expanded substantially, reaching Rp209 billion in the first quarter, nearly doubling the Rp109 billion recorded in early 2024.
More than 15,000 merchants were registered by the end of March 2025, demonstrating widespread adoption.
Digitalization Enhances Financial and Social Transactions
Bank Muamalat, recognized as Indonesia’s pioneering Islamic bank, also supports QRIS-based social financial transactions.
These include payments for zakat, infak, sadaqah, and wakaf. Dadang stated, "Alhamdulillah, Muamalat DIN not only serves commercial QRIS transactions but also facilitates social religious financial transactions, aligning with the total benefits we strive to offer customers, both financially and spiritually."
This dual functionality underlines the bank’s commitment to integrate technology with Islamic financial principles, enhancing the overall customer experience.
New Features and Vision Supporting Sustainable Sharia Banking
Further digital innovation is underway at Muamalat DIN, including enhancements to QRIS and additional transactional and non-transactional features.
These developments aim to establish a "digital as a service" model, strengthening Bank Muamalat’s leadership in Sharia banking.
According to Dadang, the Muamalat DIN app has been adopted by over 558,000 users as of March 2025.
The bank’s new vision, "Becoming the Path of Hijrah Towards Blessings," expresses its dedication to becoming the leading Sharia business and finance ecosystem with sustainable financial performance aimed at delivering blessings.
