Indosat and Wadhwani Foundation Collaborate to Upskill 1 Million Indonesians Using AI

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH), in partnership with the Wadhwani Foundation (WF), has launched an AI-based training initiative to equip young Indonesians with digital and professional skills.

The program, released in celebration of National Education Day, is now accessible through Indosat’s myIM3 and Tri’s bima+ applications.

This initiative builds on the collaboration between the two organizations that began in January and reflects a shared commitment to preparing youth for employment in a digital economy.

With over 7.4 million job seekers reported in Indonesia’s 2025 Statistical Data, the program addresses the urgent need for skills development.

Accessible Learning Tools to Empower Indonesia’s Youth

The AI-based training modules can be accessed nationwide, including in remote areas, through the Play Store and App Store.

The content focuses on soft skills, job readiness, and entrepreneurship, and is tailored to the needs of the current job market.

Both IM3 and Tri will promote the training within their respective communities—IM3 through its Collabonation program and Tri via its Generasi Happy initiative. These efforts aim to engage users and encourage the adoption of digital learning across the country.

Vikram Sinha, President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, stated, "The youth are key to building an inclusive and sustainable future. At Indosat, we believe that no one should be left behind. With this initiative, we are committed to developing the digital skills of Indonesians, wherever they are."

AI-Powered Programs for Job Seekers and Entrepreneurs

The Wadhwani Foundation is offering AI-supported training through its JobRise and JobReady programs, available in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. These programs are designed to improve soft skills and job readiness and feature localized generative AI tools, as well as facilitator-led simulations and in-person collaboration.

Ajay Kela, President and CEO of Wadhwani Foundation, stated, "The collaboration with Indosat is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to create social change through skills empowerment through Wadhwani Skilling Network (WSN) and entrepreneurship through Wadhwani Entrepreneurship Network (WEN). We believe that digital empowerment must reach the wider community, and technology is key to making that happen."

Strengthening the Digital Ecosystem and Education Partnerships

In addition to supporting individual learners, the collaboration aims to expand partnerships with universities and schools across Indonesia.

These efforts are part of a broader strategy to prepare students with digital competencies aligned with industry needs.

The integration of AI-based training into myIM3 and bima+ enhances Indosat's digital ecosystem by transforming its platforms into tools for learning and personal development.

The partnership contributes to Indonesia’s Vision 2045 by advancing workforce readiness and promoting quality jobs and entrepreneurship, as aligned with Asta Cita’s third pillar.
