OMRON Opens Experience Center in Bandung to Combat Heart Disease

Expanding Healthcare Access With OMRON Experience Center

OMRON Healthcare Indonesia has officially opened its latest Experience Center in Bandung, marking another step in its mission to provide high-quality medical devices and healthcare solutions across the country. This expansion follows the successful launch of OMRON Experience Centers in other major Indonesian cities, including Surabaya, Medan, Palembang, and Makassar.

Tomoaki Watanabe, Director of OMRON Healthcare Indonesia, emphasized that this initiative reflects OMRON’s commitment to improving access to advanced health monitoring devices. By promoting home-based blood pressure monitoring and electrocardiograms (EKG), the company aims to reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases in Indonesia.

"OMRON Experience Center enhances our efforts in supporting heart health and overall public well-being. Our products, such as digital blood pressure monitors, have become essential tools for doctors and healthcare professionals in managing hypertension," Watanabe stated.

Comprehensive Health Solutions and Services

At the OMRON Experience Center, customers can experience and test a wide range of health devices, including:

  • Digital blood pressure monitors
  • Body composition monitors
  • Nebulizers
  • Pain management devices
  • Digital thermometers

Beyond product testing, the center offers faster servicing, including validation of digital blood pressure monitors using the OMRON Digital Tester. Customers also benefit from pre-sales and after-sales services, ensuring they receive proper guidance and maintenance support.

Watanabe hopes that the OMRON Experience Center will become a valuable resource for the Bandung community, making preventive healthcare and disease management more accessible.

The Importance of Home Blood Pressure Monitoring

Dr. Ivan Kunardi welcomed the opening of the OMRON Experience Center, noting that it provides the public with direct access to certified medical devices and professional support.

"This center is extremely beneficial for Bandung residents, offering easy-to-use blood pressure monitors with accurate measurements," he said.

Dr. Ivan also stressed the importance of choosing certified health devices for home use. "Accurate readings allow for early detection of health issues, ensuring timely treatment and preventing serious conditions such as stroke and heart disease," he explained.

According to the 2023 Indonesia Health Survey (SKI), hypertension prevalence among Indonesians aged 18–24 years is 10.7%, while it rises to 17.4% among those aged 25–34 years.

Additionally, the Indonesian Hypertension Society (InaSH) reports that Asian populations are genetically more susceptible to hypertension, primarily due to high salt consumption in traditional diets, including kimchi and salted fish.

To lower the risk of hypertension, experts recommend:

  • Regular home blood pressure monitoring
  • Reducing salt intake
  • Adopting a healthy lifestyle

By providing accessible health monitoring solutions, OMRON Healthcare aims to empower Indonesians to take control of their heart health and reduce the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases nationwide.
