Google Boosts Indonesian Health and Marketing Startups

Two Indonesian startups, Kuasar and Paperless Hospital, have successfully graduated from Google for Startups AI Academy after completing an intensive three-month training program. This initiative, which involved 23 startups across Asia Pacific, provided participants with the skills and insights necessary to innovate and scale AI-driven solutions effectively.

Michael Kim, head of Google for Startups APAC, emphasized the program's role in bridging local startups with global networks. “Indonesia has many ambitious AI startups, but they often struggle to build global connections. AI Academy provides technical and non-technical training, such as business scaling and networking, connecting them with innovators worldwide,” Kim said.

Paperless Hospital

Paperless Hospital, led by CEO and founder Tri Wahyudi, is revolutionizing the healthcare sector using advanced AI technology. Leveraging tools like Vertex AI, the company enhances the accuracy of speech-to-text services, vital for patient care.

“Beyond tools that improve our service accuracy, the program gave us key insights on ethics, confidentiality, and patient data privacy—critical aspects in healthcare,” Wahyudi explained. The startup is now focused on expanding its reach to clinics and hospitals outside Java, aiming to elevate AI literacy and adoption in Indonesia’s healthcare system.

Kuasar

Kuasar, another standout graduate, specializes in AI-driven influencer marketing solutions. The startup, headed by CEO Trimikha Valentius, uses generative AI to create innovative marketing campaigns.

“The program provided us with access to Gemini and other advanced tools, including Vertex AI on Google Cloud Platform,” Valentius shared. He believes these technologies are transformative for the local industry, improving the efficiency and impact of marketing campaigns.

Participating in the program also offered unique opportunities for collaboration. “AI Academy strengthened our innovation through access to a community of innovators, fostering shared experiences and partnerships,” Valentius added.

Building a Stronger AI Community

AI Academy went beyond technical training by fostering a supportive community for participants. Through connections with alumni and AI experts, startups received ongoing guidance to ensure they remain competitive in the global market. This comprehensive approach helps maintain relevance while addressing emerging challenges in the fast-evolving AI landscape.
