Indonesia has begun integrating AI across various sectors, including public services, healthcare, and education. According to the Ministry of Communication and Digital, Indonesia is set to become one of Southeast Asia’s largest AI markets, with an estimated digital economy potential of USD 146 billion by 2025.
Russia, known for its advanced AI programs, has heavily invested in AI technologies, spending over USD 12 billion on AI development in 2022 alone. Russia's AI applications are already deployed across industries, including government, healthcare, and education. Tavares believes Indonesia could benefit greatly from Russia’s progressive AI ecosystem, drawing on its established expertise.
