MAJU:ON Boosts Indonesia Green Energy Startups Toward Global Investment Opportunities

Indonesia’s green energy and environmental startups are gaining international attention after ten selected startups from the MAJU: ON program advanced toward global investment opportunities during the MAJU: ON Final Demo Day in Jakarta (21/05).

The event was held at the Garuda Spark Innovation Hub and organized by SK Innovation E&S together with UD Impact.

The program was designed to help young Indonesian entrepreneurs gain access to funding, international networks, and overseas business expansion opportunities.

More than 200 participants attended the event, including representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Investment (BKPM), the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, KOMDIGI, and the South Korean Embassy in Indonesia.

GISACT Wins Top Position in Investment Simulation Session

One of the main activities during the Demo Day was a mock investment session. Participants and investors distributed virtual funds to startups considered to have the strongest business potential.

The final results combined the virtual investment outcomes and evaluations from an expert jury panel.

GISACT secured first place through its geographic-based spatial information analysis platform.

The technology can be applied in several sectors, including disaster mitigation and agricultural optimization.

MAJU: ON Opens Funding Access for Indonesian Startups

Selected startups also have the opportunity to receive financing through a joint fund created by UD Impact and ANGIN (Angel Investment Network Indonesia).

The funding facility offers interest-free loans of up to KRW 20 million, adjusted to local exchange rates, to support commercialization stages.

In September, the winning startups are scheduled to participate in an Indonesia–Korea conference alongside young entrepreneurs from South Korea.

The program is intended to support startups from the idea incubation stage to global business validation.

SK Innovation E&S Plans Future Program Expansion

“Through MAJU: ON, I have witnessed the unlimited potential of Indonesia’s young entrepreneurs. We hope this program can become a bridge connecting the industrial ecosystems of Indonesia and Korea,” said Shon Dong-Kun, Head of SK Innovation E&S Indonesia.

During its 10-month implementation period, MAJU: ON involved 130 teams with more than 460 young entrepreneurs.

Following the completion of the first program cycle, SK Innovation E&S stated its commitment to continue MAJU: ON in future rounds to strengthen Indonesia’s green economy ecosystem.
