Sea Reports US$410.9 Million Q4 Profit, Targets 25% Shopee GMV Growth in 2026

Singapore-based technology company Sea Limited reported net profit of US$410.9 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2025, representing a 72.9% increase from US$237.6 million a year earlier, the company said on Tuesday (03/03).

Revenue for the quarter rose 38.4% year on year to US$6.9 billion, up from US$5 billion in the same period in 2024.

The profit increase was driven by stronger performance from Sea’s e-commerce platform Shopee and its digital financial services arm Monee.

Shopee Records Higher Orders and GMV Growth

Shopee recorded four billion gross orders in the fourth quarter, marking a 30.5% increase from the year-ago period.

Gross merchandise value (GMV) rose 28.6% year on year to US$36.7 billion.

Core marketplace revenue, mainly from transaction-based fees and advertising, increased 50.2% to US$3.6 billion compared with the previous corresponding period.

However, Shopee’s value-added service revenue, which is largely tied to logistics services revenue, declined 7.5% year on year to US$735 million.

Sea said the drop was due to higher revenue netted off against shipping subsidies.

For the full year, Shopee’s revenue reached US$16.6 billion, compared with US$12.4 billion in the previous year.

Monee and Garena Deliver Strong Segment Performance

Sea’s digital financial services provider Monee posted revenue of US$1.1 billion in the fourth quarter, up 54.3% year on year.

Operating income for the segment reached US$252.8 million.

Sea said the growth in revenue and operating income was driven by its consumer and credit business.

Outstanding principal for loans to consumers and small and medium-sized enterprises increased by 80.4%, reaching US$9.2 billion compared with the year-ago figure.

Monee also gained more than 20 million unique first-time borrowers.

Sea’s digital entertainment arm Garena reported bookings growth of 23.8% to US$672.4 million in the fourth quarter.

Garena’s revenue rose 35.1% year on year to US$701 million, and the platform serves more than 100 million players daily.

Sea Targets 25% GMV Growth for Shopee in 2026

Forrest Li, chairman and chief executive officer of Sea, said the company will prioritise growth while maintaining financial discipline.

“The strong set of 2025 results is a validation of the effectiveness of our strategic choices for Shopee,” he said.

Sea aims to grow Shopee’s GMV by about 25% year on year in 2026.

The company will expand efforts in the Shopee VIP membership programme, which offers daily vouchers, exclusive discounts, and free shipping.

Li said the programme has produced double-digit spending increases among members after they join.

The number of subscribers exceeded seven million at the end of 2025, more than double the number recorded in the previous quarter.

Sea also plans to expand Monee’s products and services beyond credit into areas such as digital banking and insurance.

“We are very proud of the progress Monee has made in both growth and profit,” Li said during an earnings call on Tuesday (03/03).

Sea Full-Year Profit Surges to US$1.6 Billion

For the full year, Sea reported net profit of US$1.6 billion, compared with US$447.8 million in the preceding financial year.

Full-year revenue rose 36.4% year on year to US$22.9 billion, up from US$16.8 billion.

“As we enter 2026, we see exciting opportunities across our businesses and markets. Our excellent performance in 2025 has strengthened our conviction in our operational strategies,” Li said.
