Government Ensures Stable Internet Network at Soekarno‑Hatta Airport Amid Peak Nataru Return Passenger Flow

The government has ensured that telecommunication services at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport are stable and ready to support the surge of passengers during the return flow of the year-end holiday period (02/01).

The return flow of Nataru is projected to peak on 3 and 4 January 2026, particularly on air travel routes, prompting heightened attention to network reliability.

Internet Access Supports Passenger Digital Needs

Stable internet connectivity is essential for passengers who depend on digital networks to access flight information, communicate with family, book onward transportation, and conduct digital transactions during travel.

Telecommunication readiness is considered a key factor in maintaining smooth passenger movement during periods of increased airport activity.

Deputy Minister Reviews Network Readiness On Site

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria conducted a direct inspection at the Telecommunications Monitoring Post at Soekarno-Hatta Airport to ensure service quality remains optimal amid potential congestion.

“The return flow is expected to increase on 3 and 4 January, including air travel. That is why we directly checked the readiness of telecommunication networks at the airport,” Nezar Patria said at Terminal 1 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, Friday (02/01).

Monitoring Shows Stable Internet Speed and Secure Spectrum

Monitoring results showed that telecommunication services were in good condition at key locations. At Terminal 1, internet speeds were recorded as stable, ranging from 120 to 160 Mbps, supporting passengers’ digital activities.

Frequency spectrum monitoring also showed safe conditions, with no interference detected during the monitoring period. Digital infrastructure officers remained on full standby to ensure services continued to operate normally.

“We received reports that spectrum usage is safe and there is no interference. The readiness of field officers is also running well,” Nezar Patria said.

Continuous Monitoring Through Peak Return Period

Nezar Patria stated that stable telecommunication networks play an important role in supporting smooth return travel and minimizing service disruptions during increased traffic.

“Monitoring will continue until the peak of the return flow is completed. The government ensures that telecommunication services at major transportation nodes remain ready to serve the public,” he said.
