The Financial Services Authority (OJK) facilitated a meeting between the management of PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI) and a group of lenders at OJK’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
This meeting followed a number of public complaints received through OJK’s consumer complaint channels regarding delays in the return of funds and profit payments from DSI.
OJK Requests Company Accountability to Lenders
During the meeting, OJK invited DSI President Director Taufiq Aljufri and his management team, along with several lender representatives, to discuss the current problems at DSI and steps for resolution.
OJK asked DSI to explain the situation and to take responsibility for lenders’ funds that remain held by the company.
In response, DSI expressed its commitment to fulfill its repayment obligations to lenders in stages, according to its financial capability. The company also stated that the repayment plan would be developed with the involvement of lender representatives.
Sanctions Imposed to Ensure Focus on Obligations
As part of its supervisory actions, OJK had previously imposed a Business Activity Restriction (PKU) sanction on DSI on October 15, 2025.
The sanction aims to ensure that the company focuses on settling its obligations to lenders.
Based on this sanction, DSI is prohibited from collecting new funds from lenders or providing new financing to borrowers in any form, including through its website, application, or other media.
DSI is also not allowed to transfer, obscure, reduce the value of, or change ownership of its assets—either partially or fully—without written approval from OJK, except when fulfilling obligations under applicable laws and regulations.
In addition, DSI may not change its Board of Directors, Board of Commissioners, Sharia Supervisory Board, or shareholders registered under OJK’s supervision, except for the purpose of improving performance, strengthening capital, or resolving the company’s issues and obligations.
OJK Orders DSI to Maintain Services and Complaint Channels
OJK instructed DSI to continue serving and resolving every complaint from lenders and related parties, and not to close its offices or services.
The company is required to maintain active complaint channels such as telephone, WhatsApp, email, and social media, and to provide timely responses and resolutions in accordance with existing regulations.
Further Oversight and Coordination with Authorities
OJK continues to collect information and trace parties that may be involved or responsible for DSI’s problems.
Suppose any violations of regulations or criminal indications are found. In that case, OJK will take compliance measures and coordinate with law enforcement agencies in accordance with laws and regulations, including conducting a Reassessment of Controlling Parties (PKPU) process.
OJK also requested DSI to prioritize fund repayments to lenders, maintain transparent communication, and follow up on all complaints promptly and in accordance with applicable rules.
