The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is maintaining strict oversight of the unresolved default issues faced by fintech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platforms PT Akseleran Keuangan Inklusif Indonesia (Akseleran) and PT Crowde Membangun Bangsa (Crowde).
"OJK continues to coordinate and monitor closely the progress of the action plans by management and shareholders to support a comprehensive resolution," said Agusman, Chief Executive Supervisor of Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions, and Other Financial Services Institutions at OJK, in a written response during the OJK Board of Commissioners Meeting (RDK) on Monday, October 13, 2025.
Agusman also emphasized that Akseleran and Crowde are being encouraged to pursue transparent and responsible resolution strategies. These include direct collections and litigation processes, in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.
Akseleran Struggles with Simultaneous Borrower Defaults
As reported by Kontan, there has yet to be a concrete resolution from Akseleran. The company has stated that it is still working to resolve its default problems.
During a meeting with Kontan, Ivan Nikolas Tambunan, President Commissioner and Co-Founder of Akseleran, explained that the defaults were caused by six borrowers who simultaneously failed to repay their loans in March 2025.
Ivan stated that the company continues to pursue various resolution efforts. These include collecting payments from the defaulting borrowers, some of whom have been reported to the police.
Crowde Faces Allegations of Fund Misuse
Crowde's default issue also remains unresolved. The situation reportedly involves allegations of embezzlement related to a credit facility provided by PT Bank JTrust Indonesia Tbk (J Trust Bank).
The issue specifically concerns the distribution of financing to end users, namely farmers. OJK identified indications of fake or non-existent end users and falsified documents.
OJK previously announced that it had conducted an investigation into suspected regulatory violations at Crowde. The authority confirmed that it has initiated legal enforcement actions and imposed sanctions based on applicable laws.
