PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRI) continues to strengthen its role in supporting national economic growth through inclusive and sustainable consumer lending. As of August 2025, BRI’s consumer credit portfolio (bank only) reached IDR 216.26 trillion, growing 10.65% year-on-year (YoY).
BRIguna and Mortgage Products Lead Portfolio Growth
BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny stated that this growth is supported by increasing public trust in BRI’s leading financial products. One major contributor is BRIguna, a salary-based loan product, which recorded an outstanding balance of IDR 143.4 trillion as of August 2025—up 9.8% YoY.
Mortgage lending also showed solid performance, with an outstanding value of IDR 63.7 trillion, increasing 13.5% YoY, in line with growing public demand for housing.
Controlled Credit Quality Supports Sustainable Expansion
Dhanny explained that BRI will continue to grow the consumer segment selectively. “BRI is committed to growing its consumer portfolio with prudence and sound governance. With controlled credit quality, we are optimistic that consumer lending will continue to grow healthily and support sustainable economic growth,” said Dhanny.
The bank emphasizes caution in its lending strategy. Credit quality in the consumer segment remains well-maintained, reinforcing optimism for continued healthy portfolio growth.
Retail Banking Growth Through Payroll and NTB Clients
BRI continues to strengthen its retail banking capabilities. This includes enhancing the BRIguna product, which holds a market leadership position. The bank is acquiring quality payroll clients to support BRIguna’s growth and expanding its mortgage portfolio by targeting new-to-bank (NTB) customers with a focus on profitability.
Wealth Management Revamp Targets Affluent Clients
On another front, BRI is revamping its Wealth Management services to attract affluent and high-net-worth individuals (HNWI). “The growth in BRI’s consumer credit reflects increasing public trust in BRI’s services. Through flagship products like BRIguna and mortgage lending, BRI provides inclusive and sustainable financial solutions that directly impact community welfare,” Dhanny said.
