AFPI’s Fintech Lending Days 2025 in Sorong Expands Digital Finance Access for Eastern MSMEs

The Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association (AFPI) held Fintech Lending Days (FLD) 2025 on July 9–10 in Sorong, Southwest Papua.

The event aimed to expand financial literacy and access to digital financing for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Eastern Indonesia.

FLD Sorong 2025 carried the theme “Driving the Local Economy: MSME Synergy in Eastern Indonesia with Pindar”.

The program was designed to broaden digital financial services for business actors outside Java.

AFPI Chairman Entjik S. Djafar stated, “We want to encourage more equitable people-based economic growth and provide safer, broader access to funding for MSMEs,” in an official statement on Friday (11/7).

More than 25 local MSMEs and 31 Pindar platforms and their ecosystems took part in the event.

They were actively involved in activities to strengthen the reach of digital financing.

Based on OJK (Financial Services Authority) data as of December 2024, fintech lending distribution outside Java stood at only 21.59% of the national total.

AFPI also conducted an MSME Visit by meeting with home-based entrepreneurs in Sorong.

The session gathered their aspirations regarding access to financing and served as a two-way dialogue between MSMEs and Pindar service providers.

Entjik said the initiative is expected to serve as a forum where regulators, local governments, and associations can discuss the safe and productive use of digital financial services.
