BSI Expo 2025 Showcases Digital Innovation, Gold Services, and Halal Business Matching

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) is leveraging the BSI International Expo 2025 as a strategic milestone to reinforce its commitment to digital innovation and strengthen collaboration to accelerate the development of Indonesia’s Islamic ecosystem and bullion bank services.

Carrying the theme “Engaging Indonesia in the Global Halal Industry”, the expo will be held from June 26–29, 2025, at the Jakarta Convention Center.

Now in its second year, the event is designed to support Indonesia’s push to reach the top of the Global Islamic Economic Indicator ranking.

Reinforcing Leadership in Islamic Finance and Bullion Banking

Anton Sukarna, Director of Sales & Distribution at BSI, said the expo serves as a moment for the bank to showcase a range of Sharia-compliant financial innovations, designed with the best user experience.

“BSI International Expo 2025 is a very special event because it serves as a showcase of BSI’s continuous commitment to the halal economic ecosystem in Indonesia and globally. This expo will present various innovative BSI products and services, while also connecting the halal economy chain from upstream to downstream with a user experience touch. There will be many surprises from BSI,” said Anton.

The innovations to be introduced focus on the halal ecosystem and BSI’s bullion bank services, emphasizing BSI’s position as Indonesia’s largest Sharia bank and the first officially recognized bullion bank in the country.

Services from upstream to downstream, including Hajj and Umrah, halal lifestyle, Islamic education, BSI Griya, BSI OTO, and gold banking, will be featured at the expo through platforms such as BYOND by BSI, BEWIZE, and BSI Bank Emas.

These offerings also align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

Solid Growth from the Islamic Ecosystem and the Gold Business

Anton noted that the Islamic ecosystem, particularly in Hajj and Umrah services, Islamic education, halal lifestyle, socio-businesses, and Islamic organizations, has contributed positively to the bank’s financial performance.

Third-party funds (DPK) from this segment reached IDR 13 trillion, up 12.81% year-to-date (YTD). Islamic education, from elementary to university level, supported a 10.20% YTD growth with an outstanding value of IDR 4 trillion.

Socio-businesses and Islamic organizations recorded a 24.56% growth with IDR 5 trillion, while funding from special Hajj travel and Islamic health services reached IDR 3.2 trillion.

Outside of travel Hajj funds, BSI currently manages Hajj savings with an outstanding IDR 14 trillion across 5.8 million accounts.

Following its official recognition as a bullion bank on February 26, 2025, BSI's gold business has experienced significant growth.

As of April 2025, total managed gold reached 18.34 tons, comprising 0.83 tons via BSI Emas on BYOND, 7.3 tons from gold pawning, and 10.2 tons through gold installment.

Transaction volume reached 5.95 tons, consisting of 1 ton from BYOND and 4.8 tons in gold installment purchases.

Growth of BSI Emas on BYOND by BSI exceeded 100% month-to-date.

Introducing Digital Services Through BYOND by BSI

SEVP Digital Banking BSI, Saut Parulian Saragih, said the expo is a platform for the bank to present the latest innovations through its superapp, BYOND by BSI.

“We will introduce several service innovations from BYOND by BSI at this year’s BSI International Expo. This is our commitment to continue innovating, offering modern, inclusive, and innovative digital services, and a strategic step in strengthening the Islamic ecosystem in Indonesia,” said Saut.

The event will also reinforce collaboration across stakeholders to boost the halal sector, ESG implementation, digital service optimization, and access to capital for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Financing Halal Sectors and MSME Empowerment

BSI continues to focus on halal sector financing, with funding reaching IDR 24.015 billion as of March 2025, or 8.36% of the bank’s total financing.

Supported sectors include food and beverages, fashion, and pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

In the MSME segment, BSI has disbursed a total of IDR 49.3 trillion to over 380,000 MSMEs across Indonesia.

Through four BSI UMKM Centers in Aceh, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Makassar, the bank facilitates growth through mentoring, financial training, and skills development.

Programs like Talenta Wirausaha BSI and BSI Aceh Muslimpreneur aim to produce competent young entrepreneurs.

Global Business Matching and Financial Inclusion Initiatives

The BSI International Expo 2025 will feature business matching involving participants from more than 20 countries.

The event consists of three key components: Seminars and Strategic Partnerships, MSME Business Matching, and Entertainment.

The expo also aims to increase Islamic financial inclusion by showcasing BSI’s digital innovations such as BSI Bank Emas, BYOND by BSI, BEWIZE by BSI, Cash Management, BSI QRIS, and other e-channels.

Among the featured entertainment will be Maher Zain, an international artist known for his popular Islamic songs in Indonesia.

Throughout the event, BSI will offer special programs for transactions related to Hajj and Umrah registration, gold purchases, vehicles, housing, and more.
