Indonesia’s 1000 Startup Digital Movement Wins Top Exit Valuations Award

Indonesia’s 1000 Startup Digital Movement, initiated by the Ministry of Communication and Digital, has received the Top Startup Exit Valuations award from StartupBlink. This recognition highlights Indonesia’s role in developing a strong digital startup ecosystem.

According to StartupBlink, Jakarta secured the top position in Southeast Asia for Top Startup Exit Valuations, outperforming Singapore (ranked 67th) and Manila (ranked 35th). The ranking is based on the number, scale, and total valuation of startup exits throughout 2024. On a global scale, Jakarta is ranked 25th.

Sonny Sudaryana from the Directorate General of Digital Ecosystems at the Ministry of Communication and Digital stated that since its launch in 2016, the 1000 Startup Digital Movement has served as a key platform for Indonesian digital talents to innovate and build sustainable tech businesses.

“This award reaffirms Jakarta’s position as the leading startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia in terms of startup exit valuations. It also strengthens Indonesia’s commitment to developing a globally competitive startup ecosystem,” he said.

Sonny also expressed appreciation for the collaboration between startups, investors, incubators, and policymakers, which has contributed to building a strong and competitive digital ecosystem.

The Startup Ecosystem Awards 2025, held on January 28, 2025, evaluated over 1,000 cities across more than 100 countries. The rankings were determined using an algorithm based on 40 parameters across 91 sub-industries. The awards were organized by StartupBlink, a global startup ecosystem mapping and ranking platform.
