As the festive season approaches, PT PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP) has announced comprehensive measures to ensure a stable electricity supply across Indonesia during Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025. The company has mobilized a net power capacity of 19.131 gigawatts (GW) from its power plants distributed over 107 locations nationwide.
Edwin Nugraha Putra, President Director of PLN Indonesia Power, emphasized the company's commitment to maintaining electrical reliability during this critical period. He stated, "PLN Indonesia Power is ready to maintain the reliability of electricity during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year celebrations with a net power capacity of 19,131 MW."
Nationally, PLN projects a peak load of 39 GW during the holiday season, with a prepared supply capacity of 53 GW, ensuring a reserve margin of 14 GW. PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo assured that all aspects of the electricity system are primed for the increased demand, including primary energy supply, generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service systems. He noted, "The peak load at Christmas and New Year's Eve is around 39 GW. The supply capability we have prepared is 53 GW, meaning that there is a 14 GW margin reserve."
To bolster operational readiness, PLN Indonesia Power has deployed 4,777 personnel from December 18, 2024, to January 8, 2025. This team comprises 1,518 operational staff, 675 maintenance workers, and 2,584 security personnel stationed across 76 locations. Their primary objective is to prevent and swiftly address any operational disruptions, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply during the festive period.
In addition to human resources, the company has positioned 33 fire engines, 25 ambulances, and other essential equipment to manage potential disturbances effectively. Edwin highlighted that no plant maintenance activities that could disrupt electricity supply will be conducted during this period, stating, "We have carried out early maintenance of the plant, so that power supply disruptions caused by plant maintenance can be minimized."

Edwin remarked, "All officers are ready to make extraordinary achievements in 2024.
