Collaboration Expands Indonesia’s Digital Payment Reach

The launch of QRIS Cross Border in South Korea marks a key milestone in expanding Indonesia’s digital payment ecosystem internationally.

This initiative is the result of cooperation between Bank Indonesia and the Bank of Korea to create a more inclusive and efficient multinational payment system.

QRIS Cross Border is now available in five countries: Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

Millions of Transactions Recorded Across Participating Countries

Bank Indonesia reported that since the beginning of 2026, QRIS Cross Border has processed 7.6 million transactions.

These include 5.9 million inbound transactions and 1.7 million outbound transactions made by Indonesians abroad.

BCA contributed to this growth through its operations in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan.

By the end of December 2025, BCA's transaction volume had increased by 185% year-over-year.

In the same period, transaction value reached Rp632 billion, reflecting a 148% year-over-year increase.

BCA Highlights Commitment to Customer Needs Abroad

BCA President Director Hendra Lembong stated, “BCA is ready to support the implementation of QRIS Cross Border in South Korea. We appreciate Bank Indonesia's initiative in developing QRIS Cross Border as a solution for easy, fast, and efficient payments for Indonesians abroad.”

He added, “So far, QRIS Cross Border has supported the needs of customers who are engaging in activities while abroad, from daily retail transactions, consumption, to payments in the tourism and lifestyle sector. BCA continues to be committed to developing and expanding digital services to fulfill our customers' growing needs.”

Steps to Use QRIS Cross Border via BCA Apps
