The Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has introduced a game-changing initiative for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through its Startup4Industry program. This initiative aims to empower SMEs by providing digital solutions that simplify business management, improve efficiency, and increase competitiveness. With the rise of technology-driven platforms, businesses no longer need to worry about complex tasks such as tax management, transaction recording, or even digital marketing.
One of the standout startups under the program is PT Aneka Solusi Pajak, better known as Tax Point. Founded by alumni of the State College of Accountancy (STAN), Tax Point provides technology-driven solutions to simplify tax management. The platform offers a digital marketplace where individuals and businesses can access tax consultation services at competitive prices. Khrisna Ariyudha, CEO of Tax Point, emphasizes how the startup uses technology to solve tax-related issues, making it easier for users to meet their tax obligations.
Tax Point has also developed an innovative AI platform called Tax Expert AI. This system is specifically designed to answer tax-related queries quickly and accurately. By being trained with extensive tax data, the AI provides relevant and precise answers tailored to Indonesia's tax laws, making it a valuable tool for SMEs struggling with the intricacies of tax management.
Another key player in the Startup4Industry initiative is PT Sopwer Teknologi Indonesia, which offers an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system tailored for SMEs. Sopwer's integrated platform helps business owners monitor their operations across various areas, such as sales, purchases, production, and warehouse management. By centralizing all data and operations, Sopwer enables business owners to make informed decisions and avoid mistakes caused by scattered information. Since its founding in 2021, Sopwer has helped numerous SMEs across different sectors, including textiles, distribution, e-commerce, and fashion.
In the food industry, PT Sasana Solusi Digital, or Tantri, has emerged as a digital solution provider. Established in 2019, Tantri has assisted more than 70 businesses, even in remote areas like Papua and Kalimantan, in managing their operations. Tantri’s platform is customizable, catering to the specific needs of each business. Recently, the platform has expanded internationally, including its successful implementation in Korea.
The Startup4Industry program has received praise from Kemenperin’s Director General of Small, Medium, and Miscellaneous Industries, Reni Yanita, who highlighted the innovative efforts of these startups. Reni is optimistic about Indonesia's future, noting how these digital solutions address critical challenges, including food security, technology, sustainability, and job creation. Through the collaboration of these startups, Indonesia is well-positioned to tackle various economic challenges and create a stronger, more inclusive economy.
The Startup4Industry initiative is a key part of Kemenperin's strategy to foster innovation in Indonesia’s industrial sector. By providing startups with the support they need, the program helps bridge the gap between industry problems and technology-based solutions, allowing SMEs to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Whether it's managing taxes, streamlining operations, or improving marketing efforts, these startups are providing the tools that businesses need to succeed in today's competitive landscape.
