Bank Mandiri has launched a cross-border QR payment feature on Livin’ by Mandiri, which can now be used in South Korea, as part of its efforts to strengthen global payment connectivity (10/04).
The initiative aligns with Bank Indonesia’s program to expand cross-border digital payment acceptance and interconnection.
Livin’ by Mandiri Enhances Global Payment Connectivity
Senior Vice President Yanto Masyap said the feature reflects integrated collaboration between the financial industry and regulators in building a globally connected payment system.
He added that the move also supports government efforts to strengthen digital economic sovereignty and national competitiveness.
QRIS and SeoulPay Enable Seamless Transactions Abroad
Customers can conduct transactions at merchants across South Korea by scanning QR codes using the QRIS standard without the need to exchange cash.
Payments are processed in real time by scanning merchant QR codes with the SeoulPay logo, offering a practical, secure, and efficient transaction experience.
“Innovation aims to provide convenience for customers when transacting abroad. Through this feature, we want to ensure customers can transact more easily and comfortably in various international destinations,” Yanto said.
Digital Payment Growth Drives QRIS and Cross-Border Usage
The feature has previously been available in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Japan, reflecting the consistent expansion of global connectivity.
As of February 2026, Livin’ by Mandiri recorded more than 38.5 million users, with total transaction value reaching Rp802 trillion.
QRIS usage continues to increase, with 9.2 million users of QR payment features, growing 23% year-on-year, while transaction value rose 43% to Rp38.9 trillion.
Cross-border QR services showed stronger growth, with users rising 23% year-on-year to 13,000 and transaction value increasing 52% to Rp37.4 billion.
Multi-Currency Services Support Overseas Transactions
Livin’ by Mandiri offers flexible funding options, including savings accounts and Mandiri credit cards, enabling customers to manage their finances while abroad.
