PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd (Huawei) to advance digital infrastructure and the data center ecosystem in Indonesia (03/03).
The agreement was carried out through Telkom’s data center subsidiary PT Telkom Data Ekosistem (NeutraDC) and formalized during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, one of the world’s largest technology and telecommunications events.
The MoU focuses on developing digital infrastructure, strengthening the data center ecosystem, and exploring technologies to support national digital transformation.
The agreement was signed by Telkom’s Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio, Seno Soemadji, NeutraDC Group CEO Andreuw Th.A.F., and Huawei Director Chi Kaichao.
Collaboration to Strengthen Data Center Ecosystem and AI-Ready Infrastructure
Seno Soemadji explained that the partnership is part of TelkomGroup’s efforts to strengthen reliable and globally competitive digital infrastructure.
“The signing of the MoU at MWC Barcelona is a symbol of Telkom’s commitment to continue transforming as a world-class digital telco. Strategic collaboration with Huawei will strengthen digital infrastructure capabilities, accelerate enterprise solution innovation, and ensure our talent is prepared to meet national digital transformation needs,” he said.
The collaboration will explore business development in digital infrastructure, particularly in strengthening the data center ecosystem.
Huawei may use NeutraDC facilities, including potential placement of Huawei Cloud availability zones, in line with cooperation agreements and regulations.
NeutraDC to Support Enterprise and Hyperscaler Services
Andreuw Th.A.F., CEO of NeutraDC, stated that the company is ready to support enterprise and hyperscaler clients and develop next-generation network technology.
“Collaboration with Huawei opens opportunities for NeutraDC to provide scalable, efficient, and AI-ready data center infrastructure. We believe this synergy will strengthen a reliable and globally competitive digital ecosystem,” he said.
NeutraDC currently operates the hyperscale NeutraDC Nxera Batam facility, located strategically in the SIJORI region (Singapore, Johor, Riau).
The facility is supported by international connectivity and global-standard infrastructure to serve regional digital ecosystem needs.
Huawei to Share Technology Innovations
Huawei Director Chi Kaichao said the collaboration is part of efforts to advance the digital ecosystem. “Through this partnership, Huawei hopes to strengthen synergy with Telkom and NeutraDC in delivering innovative, efficient, and sustainable data center and digital infrastructure technologies. We believe this cooperation can open new opportunities for cloud and digital infrastructure development that accelerate Indonesia’s digital transformation,” he said.
The collaboration also includes sharing expertise in data center technologies such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, architecture, AI-based hardware, and operational efficiency solutions. This knowledge is expected to guide NeutraDC’s infrastructure development.
Strategic Meetings to Define Long-Term Collaboration
Alongside the MoU signing, Seno Soemadji met with Huawei representatives, including VP Carrier Sales James Zhang, to discuss long-term collaboration between the companies.
Discussions focused on digital infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, next-generation networks, and B2B ICT capabilities for Telkom.
Through the orchestration of global technology partners, Telkom continues to strengthen its role as a main enabler in building integrated digital infrastructure and solutions to support Indonesia’s digital economy growth.
