The Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, has urged global investors to put their trust in the country’s vibrant startup ecosystem. Speaking at the Tech in Asia Conference 2025 in Jakarta, Meutya highlighted Indonesia’s readiness to become a hub for digital innovation and cross-border investment in Asia.
Minister Meutya Hafid Calls for Global Confidence in Indonesian Startups
Meutya explained that the Ministry has implemented various initiatives to develop the startup ecosystem through programs such as HUB.ID Connection Hub and the Startup Indonesia Dashboard.
“These twenty outstanding startups reflect the creativity and resilience of Indonesia’s new generation of innovators. They bring a global spirit while staying rooted in local solutions for the community,” said Meutya in her keynote address on Wednesday (October 22, 2025).
The effort aligns with the Prabowo-Gibran administration’s one-year strategic vision to position Indonesia as a trusted digital innovation center in Asia.
HUB.ID Connection Hub Bridges Startups and International Investors
Since its launch in 2022, HUB.ID has connected more than 240 startups with over 80 global investors and corporate partners. The initiative has facilitated more than 2,600 curated meetings, leading to over USD 60 million in investments and business partnerships.
Beyond matchmaking, the program also includes mentoring sessions and experience-sharing with successful startup founders, aiming to strengthen managerial capabilities and business sustainability among young entrepreneurs.
Meutya noted that these collaborations reflect the growing maturity of Indonesia’s digital ecosystem.
Building a Trusted Digital Innovation Hub in Asia
According to Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, Director General of Digital Ecosystems at the Ministry, all components of the startup ecosystem must be reinforced to reduce the risk of failure.
“We need to orchestrate the ecosystem. Collaboration between government, private sectors, and the community is key,” he emphasized.
This collaborative approach underpins Indonesia’s vision to build a digital economy that thrives on trust, innovation, and interconnection.
Startup Indonesia Dashboard: Connecting Data, Investors, and Policy
In addition to HUB.ID, the Ministry has introduced the Startup Indonesia Dashboard, a national integrated database designed to map and connect startups with investors across sectors and regions.
The platform helps investors assess business potential while enabling policymakers to track the direction of digital growth nationwide.
“When everything is connected, innovation will flourish,” Meutya asserted.
Through these initiatives, Indonesia continues to position itself as a home for digital innovation, driven by collaboration between startups, investors, and the government.
