Zinit Invests $2M to Disrupt Indonesia’s $200B Indirect Procurement Market with AI Platform

Global SaaS startup Zinit has made its entry into Indonesia with a $2 million (approximately Rp30 billion) investment, establishing its first office in Jakarta and building a team of local professionals.

The company offers an AI-powered platform that automates procurement processes for businesses.

This strategic move signals Zinit’s long-term commitment to Indonesia’s growing supplier ecosystem.

Indirect Procurement: A High-Potential Market in Transition

Zinit focuses on indirect procurement, a segment that represents 15–30% of private sector procurement in Indonesia.

According to macroeconomic analysis from the Embassy of Switzerland in Indonesia, the segment could reach a total value of $200 billion (Rp3 quadrillion) over the next few years.

Co-Founder Andrey Chernogorov stated, “Our AI-based B2B platform specializes in the indirect procurement segment,” which remains largely reliant on manual processes and informal supplier connections.

Cutting Costs and Increasing Transparency in Procurement

Zinit’s platform is designed to reduce indirect spending by up to 30%, while improving transparency and simplifying purchasing processes.

The system also enables greater access for local suppliers to join corporate tenders.

“Zinit Indonesia has a fully localized cloud service. That’s what makes us the right partner for Indonesian customers, unlike typical Western companies,” said Chernogorov in a press release on Tuesday, (17/6).

The platform supports Bahasa Indonesia, includes real-time translation features, and uses AI to match suppliers efficiently, streamlining the tender process.

“With our outcome-based pricing model, companies only pay when procurement results are delivered,” he added.

Early Adoption from Over 40 Companies in Various Sectors

Since launching, more than 40 companies have issued open tenders through Zinit’s platform.

These include Ucoal Sumberdaya, Kayan Hydropower Nusantara, Amcor, Propan, Wipro Unza Indonesia, and Bobobox.

Tender categories include logistics, marketing services, facilities management, and office supplies.

In the first few months, over 50 tenders have been initiated. Currently, 12 companies are actively running procurement processes on Zinit, while another 34 are in the trial program.
