PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) hosted its first BCA Data Conference 2025 on Tuesday, June 10, at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta. Carrying the theme “Ignite the Future with AI,” the event demonstrated BCA’s commitment to preparing industries for the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). Speakers included public and private sector experts such as Aju Widya Sari, Director of Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology Ecosystems at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs; Arifin Iskandar, Head of SEA Google Cloud Data Analytics Specialist; Panji Wasmana, Technology Director of Microsoft Indonesia; and Sudarto Unsurlany, Digitalization Head of Petrosea.
BCA’s internal experts also presented insights, including VP of Data Management Adhitya Bhaswara, VP of Data Management Suwandi, and AVP of Data Management Timotius Nico.

BCA Deputy President Director Armand Wahyudi Hartono emphasized the importance of ethics and regulation in AI deployment.

BCA applies AI in several operational areas, including ATM and CRM refill management, EDC and thermal paper stock prediction, and fraud detection systems.
The bank also uses machine learning in its Digital Valuation for Collateral Appraisal (DIVA) and Natural Language Processing in its Virtual Assistant Chat Banking (VIRA).
In digital security, AI supports biometric features in the myBCA app and account verification during digital account openings.
BCA’s innovation efforts have received recognition, including Best Data Governance in Banking Digital Services at the DataGovAI Summit, Expo & Awards 2018, and a technology award for DIVA at the Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Technology Awards 2024.
