Akulaku Finance Sets Bold Rp9.1 Trillion Target for 2025

Akulaku Finance Indonesia (AFI) has set an ambitious target for 2025, aiming to secure new financing worth Rp9.1 trillion. This represents a 52% increase from the previous year, where the company disbursed Rp6 trillion in financing. AFI’s dominant product, Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL), currently contributes to 86% of the total portfolio, highlighting its importance in the company’s operations.

During a recent media gathering and iftar event, Perry Barman Slangor, the President Director of Akulaku Finance Indonesia, outlined the company’s 2025 goals. The company’s rapid growth in the BNPL sector has been evident, especially with an 81% increase in financing disbursement in the second half of 2024, reaching Rp3.9 trillion.

This surge came after the normalization of the oversight status by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK), which had impacted business performance earlier. Despite these challenges, AFI maintained a solid performance, with the Non-Performing Financing (NPF) rate staying low at 1.1%, indicating effective risk management and healthy financing distribution.

To meet the ambitious Rp9.1 trillion target, Akulaku Finance is focusing on several key strategies, including expanding its partner ecosystem, enhancing technological innovations, diversifying funding sources, and strengthening synergies within the Akulaku Group. These strategies aim to improve competitiveness while ensuring the sustainability of its business operations.

Akulaku’s BNPL offerings, which include both online and offline services, remain at the core of its growth strategy. Despite the growing interest in more productive financing models, the company’s primary focus continues to be on consumer financing through BNPL solutions. As the company moves forward, it is committed to maintaining good corporate governance (GCG) principles, ensuring that growth is sustainable while preserving asset quality.

In line with this, Akulaku plans to further expand its BNPL services to drive business growth while managing asset growth quality. Additionally, diversifying funding sources is a major priority to ensure the company’s ability to remain competitive in the digital financing space.

AFI’s strategy for the year 2025 is a clear reflection of its commitment to becoming a leader in the digital financing space while maintaining strong operational health and contributing to Indonesia’s growing digital economy.
